UN Chief appreciates Pakistan’s role in Islamabad Talks, reaffirms support for peace efforts

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday, during which the two leaders discussed ongoing efforts for regional peace and stability.

According to official sources, the UN Secretary-General appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in convening the Islamabad talks and commended the efforts of the Deputy Prime Minister in advancing dialogue aimed at de-escalation.

He also conveyed the United Nations’ full support for Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement to promote peace in the region.

During the conversation, Senator Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering dialogue and diplomacy as key tools for ensuring lasting peace and stability.

The interaction underscores Pakistan’s growing diplomatic role in facilitating dialogue amid evolving regional dynamics.
