ISLAMABAD: Senior Indian politician and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has voiced concern over a \u201cmassive strategic failure\u201d in India\u2019s foreign policy, while acknowledging Pakistan\u2019s growing international prominence in efforts to promote regional peace.<\/p>\n
Speaking in an exclusive program on India Today, Tharoor referred to a recent statement by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who credited Pakistan for stepping in to help de-escalate tensions linked to the Iranian conflict.<\/p>\n
Reacting to the development, Tharoor said he was \u201cin shock,\u201d terming it a significant diplomatic setback for India. He remarked that Pakistan is increasingly \u201ctaking center stage\u201d and \u201crebranding itself as a global net stability provider,\u201d while India risks losing its influence on the international stage.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\u201cI have never criticized Prime Minister Modi or the BJP before, but today, silence is just blind loyalty,\u201d he said, stressing the need for introspection in India\u2019s foreign policy approach.<\/p>\n
Tharoor further warned that India is \u201cbleeding diplomatic capital,\u201d cautioning that domestic distractions could undermine the country\u2019s ability to respond effectively to rapidly evolving global dynamics.<\/p>\n
