ISLAMABAD, Friday, April 18, 2025 : Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary of Ethiopia, Dr. Jemal Beker, held a productive meeting with Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan on Friday to review preparations for the upcoming Pakistan Single Country Exhibition in Addis Ababa.<\/p>\n
Scheduled to run from May 15 to 17, 2025, the exhibition aims to deepen commercial ties between Pakistan and Ethiopia and enhance engagement under Pakistan\u2019s “Look Africa and Engage Africa” policy.<\/p>\n
The meeting, also attended by Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce and Industry, along with senior officials from the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad and the Ministry of Commerce, underscored the strong collaboration between both sides.<\/p>\n
Expressing satisfaction with the joint mobilization efforts led by the Ethiopian Embassy and Pakistan\u2019s Ministry of Commerce and Trade Development Authority (TDAP), the two sides noted the encouraging response from Pakistan\u2019s business community. The exhibition will coincide with the High-Level Business Forum \u201cInvest in Ethiopia,\u201d scheduled for May 12\u201313 in Addis Ababa.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Beker briefed the Commerce Minister on his outreach to major Pakistani business chambers to promote participation in the exhibition. He emphasized Ethiopia\u2019s readiness to host the Pakistani delegation and highlighted the opportunities for building sustainable trade and commercial partnerships.<\/p>\n
He also credited the Ethiopian Embassy\u2019s role in facilitating Ethiopian Airlines’ entry into Pakistan, a move that has significantly advanced Pakistan\u2019s Africa-focused policy initiatives by strengthening links in trade, technology, health, and education.<\/p>\n
Minister Jam Kamal Khan lauded the ambassador\u2019s efforts in mobilizing the Pakistani business community and stressed that the Single Country Exhibition presents a vital opportunity for Pakistani enterprises to tap into Ethiopia\u2019s emerging markets and, more broadly, Africa\u2019s vast economic potential.<\/p>\n
