KABUL, Saturday, April 19, 2025 : Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in Kabul on Saturday for a day-long visit at the invitation of Afghanistan\u2019s Acting Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, Dar was warmly received by senior Afghan officials, including Deputy Minister for Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammad Naeem Wardag, Director General Mufti Noor Ahmad, and Chief of State Protocol Faisal Jalali. Pakistan\u2019s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani, along with other embassy officials, was also present.<\/p>\n

During his visit, Pakistan and Afghanistan reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening mutually beneficial relations, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high-level engagement to address shared challenges and opportunities.<\/p>\n

Senator Dar held wide-ranging talks with Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, covering a broad spectrum of bilateral issues. The two sides discussed strategies to enhance cooperation across key areas, including security, trade, transit, regional connectivity, and fostering stronger people-to-people ties.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the critical importance of security and border management, Dar stressed that addressing these issues was vital to unlocking the full potential of regional trade and economic connectivity.<\/p>\n

Dar also called on Acting Afghan Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, where discussions centered on advancing security collaboration, expanding trade and transit links, and deepening cultural and social exchanges between the two neighboring nations.<\/p>\n

Further meetings included a session with Acting Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Salam Hanafi. Both leaders agreed on the need to boost bilateral trade, transit, and economic cooperation for the mutual benefit of the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

They also committed to staying engaged to realize the shared vision of regional economic integration, including through the development of trans-regional connectivity projects.<\/p>\n
