He reiterated Islamabad\u2019s call for a \u201ctransparent and impartial investigation\u201d into the incident, emphasizing that such attempts to malign Pakistan are a cover for India\u2019s campaign to delegitimize the Kashmiri freedom struggle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,\u201d said the premier, adding that the country has made tremendous sacrifices in the global fight against terror.<\/p>\n<p>Expressing grave concern over what he termed India\u2019s \u201cweaponization of terrorism rhetoric,\u201d the prime minister pointed to New Delhi\u2019s documented state-sponsored oppression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He also raised alarm over India\u2019s alleged efforts to manipulate the Indus Waters Treaty, saying that water is the \u201clifeline for 240 million Pakistanis,\u201d and any attempt to divert it would be considered an act of aggression.<\/p>\n<p>Reaffirming Pakistan\u2019s commitment to regional peace, the prime minister warned that any Indian misadventure would be met with a firm response. He urged the UN Secretary-General to counsel India toward restraint, reiterating that the unresolved Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains the root cause of instability in South Asia.<\/p>\n<p>The UN chief appreciated Pakistan\u2019s efforts to maintain peace and acknowledged the potential consequences of escalation in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar echoed similar concerns in the Senate, warning that Pakistan would not initiate hostilities but would \u201crespond forcefully\u201d to any Indian aggression.<\/p>\n<p>In his address, Dar highlighted Pakistan\u2019s proactive diplomatic outreach, sharing that he had engaged with counterparts from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, China, the UK, T\u00fcrkiye, Azerbaijan, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Hungary. He said that China and T\u00fcrkiye had expressed full support for Pakistan\u2019s position.<\/p>\n<p>Dar accused India of staging incidents like Pahalgam as pretexts for strategic actions, referencing the 2019 Pulwama attack which preceded New Delhi\u2019s revocation of Article 370. He also warned of India\u2019s attempts to unilaterally alter the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty, calling any such move \u201cunprecedented\u201d and \u201can act of war.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTampering with water rights is a red line for Pakistan,\u201d Dar asserted, adding that the National Security Committee had already convened to address the issue and that international dossiers were being prepared for briefing global partners within 48 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar issued a stark warning based on \u201ccredible intelligence,\u201d stating that India may launch a military strike against Pakistan within the next 24 to 36 hours under the guise of false flag operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPakistan firmly rejects India\u2019s self-appointed role of judge, jury, and executioner in the region,\u201d said Tarar, describing New Delhi\u2019s approach as \u201creckless and provocative.\u201d He reiterated Pakistan\u2019s readiness for a credible, impartial investigation and blamed India\u2019s refusal for escalation.<\/p>\n<p>He warned that any military adventurism would be met with \u201cassured and decisive\u201d retaliation. \u201cThe international community must realize that the burden of escalation\u2014and its consequences\u2014will rest squarely on India\u2019s shoulders,\u201d Tarar concluded.<\/p>\n<p>The Pakistani leadership remains unified in its resolve to defend the country&#8217;s sovereignty and territorial integrity, calling on the world to prevent further deterioration in regional peace and stability.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, April 29, 2025 : Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with United Nations Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres, urging the world body to play an active role in de-escalating regional tensions following India\u2019s unfounded allegations against Pakistan over the recent Pahalgam incident.
