Trump for his offer to play a more active role in promoting lasting peace in South Asia, particularly in the context of Pakistan-India tensions.<\/p>\n<p>Taking to the social media platform X, the Prime Minister described President Trump\u2019s remarks as a \u201cmost valuable offer\u201d and praised his \u201cpathbreaking leadership and commitment to global peace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor decades, Pakistan and the U.S. have been close partners in promoting peace, security, and mutual interests in key regions of the world,\u201d PM Sharif stated. \u201cI am confident that in President Donald Trump, Pakistan has found a great partner who can reinvigorate our strategic partnership, particularly in trade, investment, and broader cooperation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement followed Trump\u2019s remarks on Truth Social, where he applauded the leadership of both India and Pakistan for agreeing to halt hostilities, calling it a \u201chistoric and heroic decision\u201d that potentially saved millions of innocent lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am very proud of the strong and unwaveringly powerful leadership of India and Pakistan,\u201d Trump wrote. \u201cIt was time to stop the current aggression that could have led to the death and destruction of so many, and so much.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump also signaled his intent to boost trade with both nations and expressed hope for progress on resolving the longstanding Jammu and Kashmir dispute. \u201cAfter a thousand years, maybe a solution can be found,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>In response, Pakistan\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed Trump\u2019s statement and acknowledged the constructive role played by the United States, along with other friendly nations, in facilitating the recent ceasefire understanding between Pakistan and India \u2014 a move Islamabad views as a critical step toward de-escalation and regional stability.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPakistan appreciates President Trump\u2019s willingness to support efforts aimed at the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute,\u201d the Foreign Office said.
