<\/p>\nISLAMABAD, Thursday, May 15, 2025 : Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday paid rich tributes to the armed forces and the people of Pakistan on the occasion of Youm-e-Tashakkur (Day of Gratitude), commemorating what they described as a resounding victory over Indian aggression.<\/p>\n
In a statement marking the occasion, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif lauded the resilience, unity, and unwavering commitment of the Pakistani nation and its armed forces. He reiterated that Pakistan remained steadfast in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur armed forces possess not only the capability but also the resolve to counter any malicious designs of the enemy,\u201d the minister stated. While emphasizing Pakistan\u2019s desire for peace, he made clear that this aspiration would never come at the expense of national dignity or sovereignty.<\/p>\n
He called the military’s timely and resolute response to recent provocations a testament to its professionalism and readiness. \u201cI extend heartfelt gratitude to the entire nation\u2014especially our brave soldiers, the families of our martyrs, and all institutions contributing to national defence,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Highlighting national cohesion as a cornerstone of Pakistan\u2019s strength, the defence minister urged citizens to renew their commitment to defend the country under all circumstances. \u201cLet us strive together for peace, stability, and a brighter future,\u201d he said, concluding with a resounding: \u201cPakistan Zindabad \u2014 Armed Forces of Pakistan Paindabad!\u201d<\/p>\n
Separately, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi issued a strongly worded statement, celebrating what he described as a “glorious and dignified victory” in the face of Indian hostility.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe bow in prostration before Allah Almighty for this remarkable triumph,\u201d Naqvi declared, crediting the valor of Pakistan\u2019s armed forces and the unmatched sacrifices of its martyrs for the outcome.<\/p>\n
Slamming India for what he termed a “cowardly” nighttime assault, Naqvi said, \u201cAs in the past, the enemy once again attempted to strike under the cover of darkness but faced a humiliating defeat.\u201d<\/p>\n
Claiming that Pakistan\u2019s air force shot down six Indian fighter jets, Naqvi hailed it as a landmark moment in aerial combat. \u201cOur fearless falcons turned Indian aircraft into dust, setting a new benchmark in modern air warfare,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He added that the swift withdrawal of Indian forces from the battlefield signaled their defeat. \u201cThe overconfident enemy fled within hours of its failed attack,\u201d the minister noted.<\/p>\n
Praising the military\u2019s decisive response, Naqvi stated, \u201cEvery brick thrown at us was returned with a stone. This is a golden chapter in Pakistan\u2019s military history.\u201d<\/p>\n
He underscored that the entire nation shared in the pride of the military\u2019s success. \u201cThis victory belongs not just to our soldiers but to every Pakistani. Today, the entire nation stands tall,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Naqvi also paid tribute to the country\u2019s military leadership, lauding Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf for their strategic acumen and courageous leadership.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnder the wise and bold command of our services chiefs, Pakistan\u2019s armed forces crushed the enemy\u2019s plans and defended the motherland with unparalleled bravery,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
