ISLAMABAD, Thursday, June 12, 2025 : Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and head of the party’s parliamentary group in the Senate, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, on Thursday strongly condemned India\u2019s recent allegations against T\u00fcrkiye and its punitive measures targeting Turkish companies, calling them baseless and politically motivated.<\/p>\n

The remarks came during a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, at Parliament House, where Senator Siddiqui expressed unwavering support for T\u00fcrkiye in the face of what he described as \u201cunjustified provocations\u201d by India.\"\"<\/p>\n

\u201cWe categorically reject India\u2019s accusations and its actions against Turkish businesses,\u201d Siddiqui said. \u201cPakistan desires peace in the region but remains fully prepared to respond decisively to any attempts at regional domination or aggression.\u201d<\/p>\n

He recalled T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s consistent support to Pakistan during times of Indian hostility and said the Pakistani nation would never forget Ankara\u2019s solidarity. \u201cPakistan and T\u00fcrkiye enjoy a historic and deep-rooted friendship, which is now expanding into new areas of cooperation\u2014particularly in security and defense,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Senator Siddiqui noted that the strong personal rapport between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has significantly contributed to the strengthening of bilateral ties. He welcomed Ambassador Neziroglu warmly and praised his role in furthering Pakistan-T\u00fcrkiye relations.<\/p>\n

The senator also reiterated Pakistan\u2019s commitment to a peaceful and stable South Asia, while underlining that sustainable peace is not possible without the resolution of the Kashmir dispute. \u201cWe are always ready for comprehensive dialogue, but the world now clearly sees who is obstructing peace,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

On regional issues, both leaders voiced strong condemnation of Israel\u2019s continued atrocities in Gaza, describing them as genocide. They called for a unified stance at international platforms to uphold global peace, justice, and human rights in the face of such grave violations.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Neziroglu, for his part, expressed deep appreciation for Pakistan\u2019s consistent support to T\u00fcrkiye, especially at times of global and regional challenges. \u201cWhen I arrived in Pakistan, I did not feel like I was in a foreign country\u2014it felt like home,\u201d he said. He reaffirmed T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s commitment to standing shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the need for practical progress, the ambassador called for both countries to take \u201cconcrete, structured, and forward-looking steps\u201d to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n

He also lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif\u2019s leadership, describing him as a trusted friend of T\u00fcrkiye and a key figure in fostering closer ties between the two brotherly nations.
