ISLAMABAD, Monday, July 21, 2025 : The National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) on Monday strongly condemned a recent incident of so-called \u2018honour\u2019 killing reported from Balochistan, calling it a grave violation of human rights and a stark reminder of the violence women continue to face across the country.<\/p>\n
NCSW Chairperson Ume Laila Azhar, along with members of the Commission\u2019s Board, denounced the act as inhuman and unjustifiable under any circumstance.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is no honour in killing,\u201d the Chairperson said, emphasizing that such acts of gender-based violence must be met with swift, strict, and uncompromising legal action.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The Commission has formally registered its protest by raising concerns with relevant authorities and demanded an immediate, transparent, and impartial investigation into the case to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice without delay.<\/p>\n
NCSW reiterated its firm commitment to protecting the rights, dignity, and safety of all women and girls in Pakistan, urging all stakeholders\u2014including the government, civil society, and media\u2014to vocally condemn such barbaric practices and work collectively to eliminate them.<\/p>\n
\u201cJustice delayed is justice denied,\u201d the statement read, underscoring the need for systemic reforms and robust law enforcement to prevent further tragedies under the guise of \u2018honour\u2019.<\/p>\n
