ISLAMABAD, Monday, July 28, 2025 : Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Monday praised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a \u201cvisionary leader of the Muslim world,\u201d commending his unwavering advocacy for Muslim causes and the enduring bond between Pakistan and T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n

He was addressing the launch ceremony of the book “Recep Tayyip Erdogan: Tiger of the Islamic World” authored by renowned journalist and head of TRT Urdu Service, Dr. Furqan Hameed.<\/p>\n

Tarar lauded Erdogan\u2019s political journey – from his grassroots rise as Mayor of Istanbul to his transformative leadership of the Justice and Development Party (AKP). \u201cHe is a people\u2019s leader, an effective administrator, and a global Muslim statesman whose leadership continues to inspire admiration across the Muslim Ummah,\u201d the Minister remarked.<\/p>\n

He highlighted President Erdogan\u2019s consistent support for global Muslim issues, particularly his resolute stance on Palestine at international platforms including the United Nations, the D-8 Summit, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. \u201cPresident Erdogan\u2019s powerful advocacy for Gaza and his bold moral leadership make him a voice of conscience for the oppressed,\u201d Tarar added.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and T\u00fcrkiye, the Minister recalled historical moments of solidarity, citing joint development projects such as the Lahore Metro Bus and waste management initiatives introduced during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif\u2019s tenure as Punjab Chief Minister. \u201cThese collaborations are rooted in our shared history that dates back to the Khilafat Movement,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Tarar also recounted how Turkish citizens took to the streets of Istanbul and Ankara to celebrate Pakistan\u2019s recent cricket victory over India. \u201cFrom natural disasters to moments of national triumph, our nations have stood shoulder to shoulder in joy and grief,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He condemned the ongoing blockade in Gaza, calling it a \u201ccatastrophic violation of basic human rights,\u201d and applauded T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s prompt humanitarian response under Erdogan\u2019s leadership. Tarar reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s unwavering commitment to Palestine, emphasizing ongoing aid efforts and educational support for Palestinian students.<\/p>\n

\u201cPakistan will continue to raise its voice for Palestine \u2014 through aid, through advocacy, and through unwavering solidarity,\u201d he affirmed.<\/p>\n

Calling the Pak-Turk relationship \u201cunbreakable,\u201d the Minister underscored its foundation of compassion, resilience, and mutual respect. He praised both President Erdogan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for their moral clarity on international issues, especially their vocal stance on the Palestinian crisis.<\/p>\n

Tarar also extended warm congratulations to Dr. Furqan Hameed, commending the book as a timely and heartfelt tribute. \u201cThis work is not only a celebration of President Erdogan\u2019s leadership but also a reaffirmation of Pakistan\u2019s dedication to peace and regional stability,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

Earlier, author Dr. Furqan Hameed paid glowing tribute to President Erdogan, describing him as an extraordinary statesman whose leadership has redefined T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s trajectory and left a powerful imprint on the Muslim world.<\/p>\n

He also emphasized Erdogan\u2019s profound spiritual connection with Pakistan, citing his frequent references to Allama Iqbal\u2019s poetry as a sign of his deep admiration for the country and its ideals.<\/p>\n

The event, a celebration of Pak-Turk friendship and Muslim unity, was attended by a distinguished diplomatic corps including ambassadors of T\u00fcrkiye, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Rwanda. Prominent media figures, scholars, and members of civil society were also present.
