ISLAMABAD, Thursday, January 15, 2026 (WNP): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has underscored the government\u2019s commitment to strengthening professional standards in state-run media by engaging senior broadcasting figures to mentor the next generation of journalists and news presenters.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued on Thursday, the minister said he had the honour of visiting the residence of veteran broadcaster Aapa Ishrat Fatima, where he requested her support in improving pronunciation, diction and professional training of young news anchors at Pakistan Television (PTV). He said Aapa Ishrat Fatima graciously agreed to contribute her experience to this effort.<\/p>\n

Attaullah Tarar reaffirmed that the government places high importance on recognising and supporting senior media professionals who have rendered distinguished services to Pakistan\u2019s broadcasting sector. He said not only would their welfare be ensured, but their experience and contributions would be given \u201ctheir due and rightful recognition\u201d across PTV and the wider broadcasting services.<\/p>\n
The minister also clarified that Aapa Ishrat Fatima\u2019s departure from Radio Pakistan was her personal decision, which was fully respected by the government. He welcomed her association with PTV, describing it as a positive step toward enhancing editorial quality and professional mentoring within the organisation.<\/p>\n
