LUMUT, PERAK: Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) of Pakistan Navy, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI, NI (M), T Bt, paid an official visit to Malaysia, reaffirming the enduring naval partnership between Pakistan and Malaysia and underscoring their shared commitment to regional maritime security and stability.<\/p>\n

During the visit, Admiral Naveed Ashraf called on the leadership of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) and was received at RMN Headquarters by Admiral Tan Sri (Dr.) Zulhelmy bin Ithnain, Chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy. The Pakistan Navy Chief was accorded a Guard of Honour, reflecting the strong professional ties and mutual respect between the two naval forces.\"\"<\/p>\n

The high-level discussions focused on aligning strategic perspectives and enhancing cooperation in key areas, including operational coordination, capacity building, and joint responses to emerging maritime security challenges. Both sides exchanged views on evolving regional security dynamics and explored avenues for closer collaboration to ensure safe and secure sea lanes in the region.<\/p>\n

HIGHLIGHTING PAKISTAN NAVY\u2019S ROLE IN PROMOTING MARITIME STABILITY, ADMIRAL NAVEED ASHRAF BRIEFED THE MALAYSIAN NAVAL LEADERSHIP ON PAKISTAN\u2019S CONTRIBUTIONS THROUGH REGIONAL MARITIME SECURITY PATROLS (RMSP) AND ITS ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN THE COMBINED MARITIME FORCES (CMF).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He emphasized Pakistan Navy\u2019s commitment to collective security initiatives aimed at countering piracy, terrorism, and other transnational maritime threats.\"\"<\/p>\n

As part of the visit, the Chief of the Naval Staff also toured Malaysia\u2019s National Hydrographic Centre, where he underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation between Malaysia\u2019s hydrographic institutions and Pakistan\u2019s National Hydrographic Office. Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in training, data sharing, and professional exchanges to improve hydrographic capabilities and maritime safety.<\/p>\n
