ISLAMABAD: Central Secretary Information of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Nadeem Afzal Chan hosted an Iftar dinner in honour of children from Pakistan Sweet Home, bringing together political leaders, social figures and members of the business community to express solidarity with underprivileged children.
The event was attended by several prominent personalities, including former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Mehdi Shah, former Senate chairman Syed Nayyar Bukhari, former federal minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, lawmakers Noor Alam Khan and Shehla Raza, as well as Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar and Chaudhry Riaz.
Addressing the gathering, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that certain developments in life resemble miracles, adding that Pakistan Sweet Home is one such remarkable example of compassion and dedication to humanity.
“It is a privilege to be connected through this bond of humanity, and it is a great honour to serve the deprived segments of society,” he said.
Ashraf expressed hope that more individuals like Zamurrad Khan, the founder and head of Pakistan Sweet Home, would emerge in the country to support orphaned children and guide them toward a brighter future.
Speaking on the occasion, Nadeem Afzal Chan said being among the children of Pakistan Sweet Home was a source of immense joy, noting that many of them were excelling in various educational fields.
He attributed the institution’s success to divine blessings and said the model adopted by Pakistan Sweet Home—providing education, healthcare and other essential facilities—serves as an example that others should follow.
Chan also appealed to philanthropists and financially well-off members of society to step forward and contribute generously to initiatives supporting underprivileged communities.
In his remarks, Zamurrad Khan said the existence of Pakistan Sweet Home and the responsibility of caring for orphaned children is a blessing from Almighty Allah.
He said the organization currently manages ten institutions dedicated to humanitarian services in different parts of the country and credited the continued support of people from all walks of life for enabling these achievements.
Khan expressed gratitude to all supporters and donors who have contributed to the growth of Pakistan Sweet Home and helped transform the lives of countless children.
The event concluded with prayers for the well-being of the children and appreciation for the collective efforts aimed at providing them with education, care and opportunities for a better future.
