Russian Ambassador meets Sindh Governor to discuss cooperation

KARACHI, Friday, April 3, 2026 (WNP): During his working visit to Karachi, Ambassador Albert P. Khorev met with Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi to discuss the province’s current political situation amid ongoing international developments.

Ambassador Khorev highlighted opportunities to strengthen interregional cooperation and establish new links through sister-city partnerships.

He identified priority areas including Russian assistance in water resource management, climate change mitigation, and the restoration of the Karachi Steel Mills.

Governor Hashmi emphasized the importance of expanding educational, scientific, and cultural exchanges, and promoting the study of the Russian language in Sindh’s educational institutions. The discussions reflected shared interest in deepening bilateral ties between Russia and Pakistan at both regional and provincial levels.
