KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, conducted an inspection tour of Passenger Terminal 1 (T1) at Kuwait International Airport following damage caused by what Kuwaiti authorities described as a “heinous Iranian aggression.”
The visit was part of ongoing field assessments aimed at evaluating the impact of the incident on airport facilities and infrastructure.
During the tour, Sheikh Fahd reviewed the damage sustained by the terminal and received briefings from relevant officials regarding the circumstances of the incident, the measures taken to contain its effects, and the ongoing efforts to restore normal operations.
He stressed the importance of completing technical inspections and carrying out a comprehensive and accurate assessment of all damages. He also directed the concerned authorities to implement the necessary measures in accordance with established procedures.
The minister commended the swift response of the relevant agencies and praised their efforts in securing the affected areas, protecting personnel, and undertaking the tasks assigned to them promptly following the incident.
In a related development, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Ahmed Al-Wahaib also visited the site to assess the impact of the incident and evaluate the extent of the damage inflicted on the airport’s facilities and structures.
Kuwaiti authorities have not yet released detailed estimates of the damages or provided information regarding the timeline for the completion of repair and restoration work.
The inspection visits reflect the government’s continued monitoring of the situation and its efforts to ensure the safety and security of critical infrastructure following the incident.
