ISLAMABAD, Thursday, June 4, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday met a delegation from the National Defence College of Sri Lanka at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations with Sri Lanka across all sectors.
The Sri Lankan delegation is visiting Pakistan as part of a foreign study tour and received a briefing on Pakistan’s foreign policy priorities and regional challenges during its visit to the Foreign Ministry.
Welcoming the delegation, Dar extended his best wishes for a productive visit and a pleasant stay in Pakistan.
He underscored the importance Pakistan attaches to its longstanding and friendly relations with Sri Lanka and reiterated Islamabad’s desire to enhance cooperation with Colombo in all areas of mutual interest.
The deputy prime minister highlighted the strong bonds of friendship between the two countries and emphasized the significance of expanding engagement in political, economic, defence, educational and people-to-people exchanges.
The visit provided an opportunity for the Sri Lankan participants to gain insights into Pakistan’s foreign policy outlook, regional developments and key diplomatic priorities.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka enjoy cordial relations rooted in mutual respect, close cooperation and shared interests at bilateral, regional and international forums.
