ISLAMABAD, Sunday, August 03, 2025 : In a significant diplomatic engagement, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian in Islamabad on Sunday, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to enhancing parliamentary cooperation and strengthening bilateral ties.

The two leaders agreed to bolster institutional linkages between Pakistan’s National Assembly and Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly, with an emphasis on fostering collaboration in legislative affairs, cultural exchange, economic development, and regional security.

Welcoming the Iranian President’s visit, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq described it as a milestone in deepening the historic bonds of brotherhood between the two nations and promoting lasting peace and development across the region.

Speaker Sadiq lauded the leadership of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and President Pezeshkian during the recent Iran-Israel conflict and expressed appreciation for Iran’s support of Operation Bunyan Marsoos. He also recalled that the National Assembly had unanimously passed a resolution on June 13, 2025, to express solidarity with Iran. Strongly condemning Israeli aggression, the Speaker reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

President Pezeshkian, in turn, expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s steadfast support and warm hospitality. He noted that Pakistan’s principled and clear stance during difficult times reflects the enduring brotherhood between the two countries. “Iran will never forget Pakistan’s solidarity,” he stated.

The meeting underscored the shared vision of both nations to work closely in promoting regional stability, unity among Muslim nations, and mutual development through robust parliamentary diplomacy.
