Pakistan, Egypt reaffirm strategic partnership as COAS Asim Munir meets President el-Sisi in Cairo

CAIRO, Saturday, October 25, 2025 : Pakistan and Egypt reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and regional stability as Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at the Itihadia Presidential Palace in Cairo.

During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the state of bilateral relations and discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest. Both sides underscored the importance of deepening strategic collaboration between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Arab Republic of Egypt—two leading Muslim nations with shared values, aspirations, and historical ties.

FIELD MARSHAL ASIM MUNIR LAUDED EGYPT’S PIVOTAL ROLE IN PROMOTING PEACE AND STABILITY IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA. HE HIGHLIGHTED THE SIGNIFICANCE OF ENHANCED DEFENCE AND SECURITY COOPERATION TO ENSURE COLLECTIVE REGIONAL SECURITY AND COUNTER EMERGING CHALLENGES.

President el-Sisi, while appreciating Pakistan’s proactive role in promoting global and Islamic unity, praised its efforts toward peace, counterterrorism, and sustainable development. He emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation to advance common interests.

Both leaders agreed to further expand engagement in multiple sectors including socio-economic development, technology, trade, and defence collaboration. They also stressed the need to strengthen people-to-people exchanges to build enduring goodwill between the two nations.

The meeting concluded on a note of warmth and mutual respect, with both sides expressing confidence that a stronger Pakistan-Egypt partnership would play a vital role in advancing peace, prosperity, and stability across the Muslim world and beyond.
