Pakistan, Indonesia explore expanded investment cooperation as Ishaq Dar holds talks with Danantara Chief

ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, January 14, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday held talks with Rosan Roeslani, Indonesia’s Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry and Chief Executive Officer of the country’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, Danantara, focusing on deepening economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

ACCORDING TO OFFICIAL SOURCES, THE DISCUSSION REVIEWED EXISTING ECONOMIC TIES AND EXPLORED NEW AVENUES FOR INVESTMENT COLLABORATION, WITH AN EMPHASIS ON MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL PROJECTS THAT COULD ENHANCE TRADE, INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AND LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIPS.

Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening Pakistan–Indonesia economic relations in line with their broader strategic partnership, and expressed interest in facilitating greater engagement between the private sectors and investment institutions of the two countries.

The meeting reflected a shared commitment to expanding bilateral investment flows and identifying practical opportunities for cooperation in key sectors, as Pakistan and Indonesia seek to translate strong political relations into tangible economic outcomes.
