DAVOS, Wednesday, January 21, 2026 (WNP): Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb on Wednesday held talks with Kuwait’s Minister of Finance, H.E. Subaih Abdul Aziz Al-Mukhaizeem, focusing on Pakistan’s economic outlook and avenues to deepen bilateral economic and investment cooperation.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, where both sides discussed opportunities for expanding trade, investment and institutional collaboration between the two countries.
The Kuwaiti finance minister expressed confidence in Pakistan’s economic potential and reaffirmed Kuwait’s strong regard for Pakistan and its people.
HE SAID KUWAIT WAS KEEN TO DIVERSIFY ITS OVERSEAS INVESTMENTS BEYOND TRADITIONAL MARKETS AND IDENTIFIED PAKISTAN AS A PROMISING DESTINATION, CITING ITS LARGE AND YOUTHFUL HUMAN CAPITAL, EXPANDING CONSUMER BASE AND EMERGING OPPORTUNITIES ACROSS MULTIPLE SECTORS.
Briefing his counterpart, Senator Aurangzeb highlighted Pakistan’s improving macroeconomic indicators and the government’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth. He pointed to progress in economic stabilization, a steady rise in workers’ remittances, growth in information technology exports and renewed investor confidence as signs of strengthening economic fundamentals.
The finance minister also shared updates on ongoing structural reforms and privatization initiatives, noting that these measures were creating new investment opportunities in sectors such as agriculture, minerals and mining, pharmaceuticals and technology.
Both ministers expressed optimism about the future trajectory of Pakistan–Kuwait economic relations and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening institutional frameworks, enhancing bilateral cooperation and advancing mutually beneficial investment partnerships in the years ahead.
