ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Saturday received a telephone call from Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, during which the two leaders exchanged views on the recent terrorist attack in Islamabad and reaffirmed their countries’ strong bilateral partnership.
FOREIGN MINISTER BAYRAMOV CONVEYED HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES ON BEHALF OF THE PRESIDENT, GOVERNMENT, AND PEOPLE OF AZERBAIJAN OVER THE LOSS OF PRECIOUS LIVES IN THE ISLAMABAD BLAST.
He expressed solidarity with the government and people of Pakistan and offered prayers for the martyrs and the swift recovery of those injured. Bayramov strongly condemned the attack, underscoring Azerbaijan’s firm opposition to terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
Senator Ishaq Dar thanked the Azerbaijani leadership for its timely expression of sympathy and support, and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to combat terrorism and extremism. He emphasized that Pakistan remains fully committed to eliminating the menace of terrorism and safeguarding the lives of its citizens and the sanctity of places of worship.
During the conversation, the two foreign ministers also discussed current regional and international developments of mutual interest. They exchanged views on evolving geopolitical dynamics and agreed on the importance of continued consultation and coordination at bilateral and multilateral levels.
Both sides reaffirmed the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, rooted in shared values, mutual respect, and longstanding cooperation. They expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and reiterated their commitment to further strengthening collaboration across political, economic, and diplomatic domains.
The call reflected the close ties between Islamabad and Baku, as well as their shared commitment to peace, stability, and collective efforts against terrorism.
