R-4 Foreign Ministers reaffirm support for Palestinian statehood, call for regional stability

AMMAN, Wednesday, August 5, 2026 (WNP): Foreign Ministers of the R-4 Group—comprising the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Republic of Türkiye—met in Amman on Wednesday to review the regional situation and reaffirm their collective commitment to peace, stability, and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

In a joint statement issued after the meeting, the ministers reiterated their unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent, sovereign State of Palestine based on the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The ministers stressed that a just, comprehensive, and lasting resolution of the Palestinian issue remains indispensable to achieving sustainable peace and long-term stability across the Middle East.

Reviewing the evolving regional landscape, the four foreign ministers reaffirmed the importance of continued consultation and close coordination among their countries in advancing regional stability. They emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy remain the most effective means of reducing tensions, preventing further escalation, and promoting peace throughout the region.
