Ishaq Dar receives UN Resident Coordinator Mohamed Yahya for farewell call

DPM/FM appreciates Yahya’s contribution to Pakistan-UN cooperation, congratulates him on new UN appointment

ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, August 19, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received UN Resident Coordinator in Pakistan Mohamed Yahya for a farewell call on Wednesday.

The Deputy Prime Minister appreciated Mohamed Yahya’s contributions to strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and the United Nations and acknowledged the work of the UN Country Team under his leadership.

Ishaq Dar congratulated Mohamed Yahya on his appointment as Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

Mohamed Yahya thanked the Deputy Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their support during his tenure in Pakistan.

He also expressed his desire to continue working closely with Pakistan in his new role.
