Pakistan Navy conducts nationwide maritime security drills to counter asymmetric threats

ISLAMABAD, Sunday, June 1, 2025 : The Pakistan Navy successfully concluded a two-day comprehensive exercise aimed at countering sub-conventional and asymmetric threats across all major ports and harbours of the country, reinforcing its preparedness to defend critical maritime infrastructure.

According to a statement issued by the Director General Public Relations (Navy), the exercise focused on validating and refining Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) to counter evolving threats in the maritime domain.

The drills featured coordinated operations involving Pakistan Navy Fleet units, Special Service Group (Navy), Pakistan Marines, and Naval Aviation assets. The simulated scenarios included sabotage attempts, infiltration, and other unconventional attacks, providing participating units an opportunity to enhance inter-agency coordination, situational awareness, and rapid response capabilities.

Commander Coast, Rear Admiral Faisal Amin, visited various operational setups during the exercises and witnessed live-action demonstrations by participating units. He praised their high level of readiness and professional execution.

“Maritime installations are vital to the national economy,” Rear Admiral Amin noted, adding that the secure functioning of ports and harbours is closely tied to Pakistan’s economic stability and growth.

The Pakistan Navy reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a high state of operational readiness and vowed to continue strengthening its capabilities to meet emerging maritime security challenges.
