Saudi Crown Prince, PM Shehbaz discuss regional peace, welcome US-Iran agreement

RIYADH: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Friday reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Saudi Arabia strategic partnership and welcomed the agreement reached between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran to end military operations.

The discussion took place during a telephone conversation initiated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

At the outset of the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s constructive efforts and steadfast support in facilitating the successful conclusion of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (Islamabad MoU) between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The prime minister commended the Kingdom’s role in supporting regional diplomacy and promoting dialogue aimed at achieving peace, stability and security across the Middle East.

During the conversation, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed the agreement reached between the United States and Iran to end military operations, describing it as an important step toward de-escalation made possible through the mediation efforts of the brotherly Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The Crown Prince reaffirmed the Kingdom’s aspiration to see the agreement evolve into a comprehensive and permanent settlement that would strengthen regional security, stability and prosperity.

The two leaders also reviewed the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and discussed ways to further deepen bilateral cooperation across a wide range of sectors.

They reaffirmed their shared commitment to expanding strategic partnership and enhancing coordination on issues of mutual interest, while continuing joint efforts to promote peace, dialogue and stability in the region and beyond.

The telephone conversation reflected the close and enduring ties between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, underscoring their common vision for regional peace, constructive diplomacy and stronger bilateral cooperation.
