ISLAMABAD, Thursday, July 24, 2025 : President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday praised China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s socio-economic development and underscored the vast potential for expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, economy, culture, and regional connectivity.

During a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong at Aiwan-e-Sadr, the president reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to its all-weather friendship with China, calling it a cornerstone of the country’s foreign policy.

“Pakistan attaches the highest importance to its relationship with China,” President Zardari stated, adding that both countries must continue to work closely for the promotion of regional peace, stability, and shared prosperity.

He expressed deep gratitude for China’s steadfast support during challenging times, noting that the Pakistani people held deep affection and respect for their “iron brother.”

Ambassador Jiang, in turn, conveyed a special birthday message from Chinese President Xi Jinping, extending warm greetings to President Zardari ahead of his upcoming birthday — a gesture symbolizing the warmth and strength of high-level ties between the two nations.

The meeting reaffirmed the strategic partnership between Islamabad and Beijing, with both sides emphasizing the need to translate political goodwill into greater economic and cultural collaboration.
