Pakistan, Türkiye call for urgent ceasefire, unimpeded humanitarian aid in Gaza

Date:

ISLAMABAD, Monday, July 28, 2025 : Pakistan and Türkiye on Monday renewed their joint call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, as the two nations urged the international community to intensify efforts for a just and lasting peace in the region.

The strong message came during a telephone conversation between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, amid the escalating humanitarian crisis in the besieged Palestinian territory.

Both leaders condemned Israel’s continued military aggression in Gaza, expressing deep concern over what they described as a worsening humanitarian catastrophe — marked by starvation, mass displacement, and the loss of innocent civilian lives.

They reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to self-determination, reiterating the need for a two-state solution in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

Senator Dar and Minister Fidan voiced hope that the high-level international conference on the implementation of the two-state solution, being held Monday at the United Nations, would yield meaningful outcomes and help advance the cause of peace in the Middle East.

The call reflected the growing urgency felt by both countries to mobilize global action in the face of an increasingly dire situation in Gaza, as well as their continued diplomatic coordination in support of the Palestinian cause.
