PM Shehbaz awards Rs 5 mln to MMA Star Shahzaib Rind’s father, hails fighter’s rising global impact

ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, July 29, 2025 : Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday met Khair Muhammad, the father of renowned Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Shahzaib Rind, at the Prime Minister’s House, acknowledging the athlete’s exceptional performance and rising global recognition.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister handed over a cheque of Rs 5 million to Shahzaib’s father as a token of appreciation from the government for the fighter’s achievements and dedication to representing Pakistan on the international stage.

Extending his best wishes to Shahzaib Rind for his upcoming competitions, Prime Minister Shehbaz lauded the young athlete for bringing pride to the nation through his discipline, resilience, and sportsmanship.

“Shahzaib Rind is an inspiration to Pakistan’s youth. His success reflects the immense potential of our talent when supported and encouraged,” the Prime Minister remarked.

Shahzaib Rind, often dubbed Pakistan’s MMA pride, has emerged as a symbol of determination and national spirit, gaining acclaim for his recent victories and unwavering commitment to the sport.
