ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, during which both leaders discussed the recently held direct U.S.–Iran negotiations under the Islamabad Talks framework, along with broader regional developments.
During the conversation, the UK Foreign Secretary appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and facilitative role in promoting peace and stability in the region, particularly in bringing the United States and Iran to the negotiating table.
Senator Dar underscored the importance of fully respecting and implementing the ceasefire, stressing that sustained peace depends on continued restraint and commitment from all parties involved.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s position, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path to resolving regional challenges and ensuring long-term stability.
Both sides agreed on the need for continued engagement and coordination, as international efforts intensify to consolidate the gains made through the Islamabad Talks and move towards a durable peace framework.
