Iran says no immediate plans for further talks amid ongoing tensions

Date:

TEHRAN: Iran has said it currently has no plans to hold another round of negotiations, amid continued uncertainty over diplomatic efforts in the region.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei stated on Monday that Tehran has not scheduled any subsequent talks at this stage, reflecting the evolving situation following recent diplomatic engagements.

His remarks come after earlier rounds of discussions failed to produce a breakthrough, with Iranian officials citing differences on key issues and a prevailing atmosphere of mistrust.

Despite the lack of immediate plans for new negotiations, Iranian officials have previously indicated that diplomatic channels remain open in principle, emphasizing that engagement depends on circumstances and national interests.

The development underscores ongoing uncertainty surrounding efforts to de-escalate tensions and reach a sustainable agreement, as regional and international stakeholders continue to push for dialogue and stability.
