Iran Navy official meets FM Araghchi, hails diplomatic efforts

TEHRAN: Rear Admiral Faramarz Bamani, Deputy Commander of the Iranian Navy, met with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to commend diplomatic efforts aimed at securing the return of the bodies of sailors from the Dena and Bushehr vessels.

According to media reports, the naval official appreciated the role of diplomacy in facilitating the repatriation process, highlighting coordination between Iran’s military and foreign policy institutions.

During the meeting, Araghchi described the authority and readiness of Iran’s armed forces as a strong backing for safeguarding national interests, emphasizing the alignment between defence capabilities and diplomatic engagement.

The interaction reflects Tehran’s broader approach of integrating military strength with diplomatic initiatives amid ongoing regional tensions, with officials underscoring the importance of both elements in addressing evolving challenges.
