PM Shehbaz, Iranian President Pezeshkian discuss regional crisis, reaffirm support, unity

ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, June 24, 2025 : Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday, reaffirming Pakistan’s full diplomatic support to Iran amid the ongoing regional tensions.

Shehbaz Sharif assured President Pezeshkian of Pakistan’s backing at all relevant international platforms, including the United Nations Security Council and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The Prime Minister underscored the need for all parties to adhere to international law and the principles of the UN Charter. He emphasized that Pakistan is closely monitoring the evolving situation in the Middle East and reiterated the country’s commitment to peace, dialogue, and diplomacy as the only viable path forward.

President Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s unwavering and principled stance during the crisis. He appreciated Islamabad’s constructive efforts in promoting a peaceful resolution and welcomed the Prime Minister’s gesture of solidarity.

Both leaders agreed on the urgent need for unity within the Muslim Ummah during this critical period and pledged to remain in close contact moving forward.
