First Lady Aseefa visits hospital-based school in Bahrain, highlights child-centred care, education

MANAMA, Thursday, January 15, 2026 (WNP): First Lady of Pakista Aseefa Bhutto Zardari on Thursday visited the Military Hospital Micro School at King Hamad University Hospital, an innovative initiative designed to support hospitalised children by integrating education into paediatric healthcare.

During the visit, the First Lady was briefed on the school’s model, which enables young patients to continue their academic studies while undergoing medical treatment, helping to preserve learning continuity and promote emotional well-being during prolonged hospital stays.

ASEEFA TOURED THE MICRO SCHOOL’S INTERACTIVE CLASSROOMS AND MODERN LEARNING FACILITIES, OBSERVING HOW STRUCTURED EDUCATION IS COMBINED WITH THERAPEUTIC SUPPORT TO FOSTER RESILIENCE AND A SENSE OF NORMALCY AMONG CHILD PATIENTS.

She interacted with students, teachers, and hospital staff, and commended the dedication of educators and healthcare professionals in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for children facing medical challenges.

The visit underscored the importance of holistic, child-centred approaches in healthcare, highlighting how education can play a vital role in recovery, confidence-building, and long-term development for hospitalised children.
