ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Saturday received the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, at the Foreign Office, where the two sides discussed the recent security situation and the broader trajectory of Pakistan–Iran relations.
DURING THE MEETING, AMBASSADOR MOGHADDAM CONVEYED HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES ON BEHALF OF THE IRANIAN LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE OVER THE TRAGIC BLAST AT AN IMAMBARGAH IN ISLAMABAD.
He expressed solidarity with Pakistan and offered prayers for the martyrs and the early recovery of those injured.
Strongly condemning the terrorist attack, Senator Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm and unwavering resolve to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. He emphasized that the state remains fully committed to protecting the lives of its citizens and safeguarding places of worship, and that those responsible for such acts of violence would be brought to justice.
THE IRANIAN AMBASSADOR BRIEFED THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER ON THE PROGRESS ACHIEVED THROUGH VARIOUS BILATERAL INSTITUTIONAL MECHANISMS AIMED AT ENHANCING COOPERATION BETWEEN THE TWO NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES.
He highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration across a range of sectors, including trade, energy, border management, and regional connectivity.
Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to further deepening engagement with Iran, Senator Dar underscored the importance of sustained dialogue and practical cooperation in key priority areas of mutual interest. He noted that Pakistan values its close and brotherly ties with Iran and remains keen to expand cooperation through existing bilateral frameworks.
Both sides expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in bilateral relations and agreed to continue working closely to promote regional peace, stability, and shared prosperity, while reinforcing collective efforts against terrorism and extremism.
