Dar, Austrian envoy discuss boosting ties in education, tourism, & business at UN forum

NEW YORK, Tuesday, July 22, 2025 : Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Peter Launsky, Special Envoy for Global Affairs of the Austrian Chancellor, on the sidelines of the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development in New York on Tuesday.

The two sides expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in Pakistan-Austria relations and discussed ways to further expand cooperation in education, tourism, and business sectors.

During the meeting, Launsky praised the Pakistani diaspora’s contributions to Austria’s economy and multicultural society, describing them as a vital bridge between the two nations.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to multilateral collaboration, particularly at the United Nations, and discussed strengthening coordination on global development issues.

The Austrian envoy also acknowledged Pakistan’s effective role at the UN Security Council during its term as a non-permanent member, especially under its presidency, and lauded Islamabad’s constructive contributions to global peace and security.

The meeting reflected a shared resolve to deepen bilateral ties and enhance cooperation on regional and international platforms.
