Iqra University shines on global stage as two students join Pakistan’s national teams for global encounters festival in Dubai

ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, July 22, 2025 : Iqra University Islamabad Campus celebrated a proud moment on Tuesday as two of its students were selected to represent Pakistan at the prestigious Global Encounters Festival 2025 in Dubai, showcasing the university’s commitment to both academic and co-curricular excellence.

Hira Ali, a Media Studies student, has been selected to join Pakistan’s National Volleyball Team, marking a significant milestone in her athletic career. Her selection reflects not only her individual dedication but also the university’s support for nurturing well-rounded student success.

Meanwhile, Aziz Ahmed, an alumnus of the university, has earned a spot on the Pakistan International Squash Team, a testament to his relentless pursuit of excellence and the strong athletic foundation fostered at Iqra.

The Global Encounters Festival, known for bringing together youth from across the globe through sports, arts, and cultural exchange, serves as a prominent platform for emerging talent to showcase their skills on an international stage.

The university congratulated both students on their exceptional achievements, highlighting their success as a source of inspiration for the wider student body. “Their accomplishments reaffirm Iqra University’s vision of producing globally competitive and holistically developed graduates,” the campus said in a statement.
