President Zardari, Bahrain’s King hold talks on trade, defence, regional issues

MANAMA, Wednesday, January 14, 2026 (WNP): President Asif Ali Zardari met King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at Al-Qudaibiya Palace in Manama on Wednesday, where he was accorded a guard of honour, marking the high-level engagement between Pakistan and Bahrain.

During the meeting, the two leaders held wide-ranging discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on enhancing trade and investment, expanding defence collaboration and safeguarding the welfare of the Pakistani community residing in Bahrain. They also exchanged views on key regional and global developments of mutual interest.

BOTH SIDES REAFFIRMED THEIR COMMITMENT TO FURTHER DEEPENING THE LONGSTANDING FRATERNAL TIES BETWEEN PAKISTAN AND BAHRAIN AND AGREED TO EXPLORE NEW AVENUES FOR COOPERATION ACROSS MULTIPLE SECTORS.

In recognition of his contributions to strengthening bilateral relations, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa conferred the prestigious Sheikh Isa Award on President Asif Ali Zardari.
