Pakistan, Iran foreign ministers confer on regional situation, stress dialogue, stability

ISLAMABAD, Saturday, January 17, 2026 (WNP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Saturday held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, focusing on the prevailing situation in Iran and broader regional developments.

DURING THE DISCUSSION, SENATOR DAR EXPRESSED PAKISTAN’S HOPE FOR PEACE, STABILITY, AND RESTRAINT IN THE REGION, UNDERSCORING THE IMPORTANCE OF DIALOGUE AND DIPLOMACY IN ADDRESSING EMERGING CHALLENGES.

The two foreign ministers exchanged views on issues of mutual concern and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination.

Both sides agreed to continue bilateral consultations and engagement at appropriate levels, reflecting the shared resolve of Pakistan and Iran to strengthen cooperation and contribute to regional peace and stability through sustained dialogue.
