Prime Minister Shehbaz visits Prophet’s Mosque, departs for Qatar after Saudi trip

MADINAH, Thursday, April 16, 2026 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Madinah from Jeddah, where he was warmly received by Governor of Madinah Region Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud upon his arrival, along with the accompanying Pakistani delegation.

During his stay, the Prime Minister visited the Prophet’s Mosque and offered prayers for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan, as well as for global peace and reconciliation.

On the occasion, the gates of the Prophet’s Chamber were opened for the Prime Minister and his delegation, where he paid his respects and presented salutations.

Following the completion of his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to depart from Madinah to Doha.

In Qatar, the Prime Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, where discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations and exchanging views on regional and international issues.

The visit reflects Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement with key regional partners aimed at promoting cooperation and peace.
