Mohsin Naqvi meets Iranian Ambassador, discusses Islamabad Talks, regional stability

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with Iranian Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam in Islamabad on Monday, where matters related to regional developments and arrangements for the second phase of the Islamabad talks were discussed.

According to official details, the two sides emphasized the need for a sustainable resolution of tensions through diplomatic and dialogue channels to reduce regional instability.

The Interior Minister briefed the Iranian envoy on his recent visit to Iran and reiterated that relations between Pakistan and Iran span decades and are rooted in fraternal ties, which Pakistan values highly.

He said Pakistan supports resolving the Pakistan–Iran–United States issue through negotiations, stressing that a durable settlement is essential for lasting peace and stability in the region.

Both sides also reviewed arrangements for the upcoming phase of discussions in Islamabad, with a focus on ensuring an environment conducive to constructive engagement.

Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Inspector General Islamabad Police, and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad were also present during the meeting.
