Pakistan condemns violation of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, reaffirms support for Palestinians

Date:

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Tuesday strongly condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and the raising of the occupying power’s flag within its courtyard by illegal Israeli settlers.

In an official statement, Pakistan termed the actions “reprehensible,” calling them a blatant violation of international law as well as the sanctity and inviolability of the holy site. It warned that such provocative steps risk further escalating tensions in the region.

The statement urged the international community to take all possible measures to protect holy sites under Israeli occupation and to end impunity enjoyed by illegal settlers.

Reaffirming its longstanding position, Pakistan expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people and reiterated its unwavering support for their right to worship freely.

Islamabad also reiterated its support for the establishment of an independent and viable State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
