Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam also questions recent political developments in the United Kingdom, alleging a connection to Britain’s policy towards Iran.

ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, on Friday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a security checkpost in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province that claimed the lives of 14 security personnel, while extending condolences to the Government and people of Pakistan.

In a statement, the Iranian envoy described the attack as a “heinous terrorist act” and expressed solidarity with Pakistan during the time of mourning.

“On behalf of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and myself, I condemn the heinous terrorist act on a security checkpost in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province which led to the martyrdom of 14 security forces,” Ambassador Moghadam said.

He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Pakistan, particularly the families of those who lost their loved ones, and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the attack.

“I express my heartfelt and sincere condolences to the Government and people of Pakistan, especially to the bereaved families who lost loved ones. My sincere prayers are for the safe and speedy recovery of the injured,” he added.

In a separate statement, Ambassador Moghadam commented on recent political developments in the United Kingdom. He claimed that former British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who he said had declined to involve Britain in the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran, subsequently faced allegations of inefficiency and resigned under pressure.

The ambassador further alleged that Starmer’s successor immediately made British military bases available to the United States and recalled UK diplomats from Iran, describing the sequence of events as “suspicious.”

The remarks reflected the Iranian government’s perspective on recent geopolitical developments and its concerns regarding the evolving regional security environment.
