Punjab Chief Minister, U.S. Business Delegation discuss investment, technology cooperation

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Sunday met a high-level United States Business Delegation in Lahore, highlighting the province’s investment-ready economy and reaffirming Punjab’s commitment to expanding economic cooperation with the United States through investment, innovation and private-sector partnerships.

The meeting formed part of the delegation’s visit to Pakistan following engagements in Islamabad and Karachi, with discussions focusing on strengthening bilateral economic relations and exploring new avenues for collaboration across strategic sectors.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister showcased Punjab’s economic potential, skilled workforce and diverse investment opportunities in information technology and artificial intelligence, healthcare, agriculture, minerals, energy, infrastructure, electric mobility and urban development.

The delegation was also briefed on Punjab’s investor-friendly policies, including one-window facilitation, special economic zones, tax incentives and the Zero Time to Start policy, designed to enable investors to establish businesses without unnecessary bureaucratic delays.

Both sides exchanged views on promoting investment, technology transfer, innovation and enhanced private-sector collaboration, reaffirming their shared commitment to expanding Pakistan–United States economic cooperation.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also appreciated the role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in facilitating the engagement and supporting a business-friendly investment environment aimed at attracting international investors and strengthening Pakistan’s economic partnerships.
