President confers Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) upon General Syed Aamer Raza

CNSC honoured for meritorious contributions, outstanding professional acumen and distinguished services to Pakistan’s defence and security

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday conferred the prestigious Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) upon General Syed Aamer Raza, HI (M), S Bt, Commander National Strategic Command (CNSC), in recognition of his meritorious contributions, outstanding professional acumen and distinguished services towards the defence and security of Pakistan.

The honour was conferred at a Special Investiture Ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, attended by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and senior military leadership.

Also in attendance were Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ; Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI, NI (M), T Bt; Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, NI (M), HJ; members of the Federal Cabinet and Parliament, and members of the diplomatic community.

The Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) was awarded to General Syed Aamer Raza in recognition of his distinguished services, professional excellence and contributions to safeguarding Pakistan’s national defence and security.

Later, General Syed Aamer Raza paid a courtesy call on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

During the meeting, the President conveyed his best wishes to General Syed Aamer Raza for success in his future responsibilities.
