DPM/FM received by senior Kyrgyz officials as Pakistan prepares to assume SCO Council of Heads of State chairmanship
BISHKEK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, to join Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the Pakistani delegation for the SCO Council of Heads of State Meeting and SCO Plus Summit.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister travelled to Bishkek alongside Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler, who are also scheduled to participate in the SCO engagements alongside President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Upon arrival, Ishaq Dar was received by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Meder Abakirov, Ambassador of Türkiye Dr. Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Ambassador Altamash Wazir Khan, and Director General Hasan Ali Zaigham, along with senior officials of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dar will participate in the SCO engagements alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as Pakistan prepares to assume the Chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State for 2026–27.
The Pakistani leadership’s participation in the summit is expected to provide an important platform for strengthening Pakistan’s engagement with SCO member states and advancing bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation.
