Türkiye, Pakistan discuss measures to deepen labour, social security cooperation

ANKARA: Minister of Labour and Social Security of the Republic of Türkiye Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan met with Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain at his ministry, with the two sides discussing measures to further strengthen cooperation between Türkiye and Pakistan.

In a statement following the meeting, Minister Işıkhan said the discussions focused on steps that could be taken to enhance cooperation with Pakistan, describing the country as a friendly and brotherly nation with which Türkiye shares deep historical and cultural ties.

The meeting reviewed opportunities for greater collaboration in areas falling within the respective ministries’ common fields of work, with an emphasis on achieving mutual benefits for citizens of both countries.

Minister Işıkhan reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to strengthening relations with Pakistan and developing cooperation in areas of shared interest.

He said Türkiye and Pakistan would continue working to deepen their longstanding bilateral relationship and ensure that cooperation in labour and social security-related areas delivers practical benefits to the people of both countries.

The engagement reflects the broader close and fraternal relationship between Türkiye and Pakistan, founded on longstanding historical, cultural and people-to-people ties.
