Russia, Pakistan discuss humanitarian, regional cooperation

Ambassador Albert P. Khorev meets Senate Opposition Leader Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri; sides discuss scientific, educational and cultural ties

ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Pakistan Albert P. Khorev met with Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate of Pakistan and Chairman of the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) party, with the two sides exchanging views on bilateral and regional cooperation.

The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in the humanitarian, scientific, educational and cultural fields, according to the Embassy of Russia in Pakistan.

Ambassador Khorev expressed hope for the peaceful resolution of political differences and the achievement of broad national consensus in the interests of the Pakistani people.

Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri thanked Russia for its efforts to promote regional peace and for advancing interregional Eurasian cooperation projects.

The meeting highlighted the importance of continued engagement between Pakistan and Russia across humanitarian and other areas of mutual interest, while also reflecting the role of regional cooperation in strengthening broader bilateral relations.
