Dar, Saudi FM discuss Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, regional security; Pakistan condemns recent attacks targeting Kingdom
NEW YORK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, reaffirming the deeply rooted and brotherly Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relationship.
During the meeting, the two foreign ministers welcomed the signing of the Agreement on Mutual Exemption from Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic and Official/Special Passports, describing it as an important step towards further facilitating high-level exchanges and strengthening bilateral relations.
DPM/FM Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar expressed Pakistan’s steadfast solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and condemned the recent attacks targeting the Kingdom.
The two sides also discussed matters pertaining to the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation under the agreement, while advancing regional peace, stability and security.
The foreign ministers underscored the importance of sustained high-level exchanges and continued close coordination between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on bilateral and regional matters of mutual interest.
They reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen the longstanding strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries and to work closely for peace, stability and security in the region.
