Pakistan’s security forces eliminate Indian-backed terrorists in Balochistan, KP: President, PM laud operations

Date:

ISLAMABAD, Thursday, May 29, 2025 : President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday paid glowing tributes to Pakistan’s armed forces for successfully eliminating terrorists affiliated with the Indian-backed network “Fitna-al-Hindustan” in separate intelligence-based operations conducted in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In a statement, President Zardari commended the security forces for their bravery and professionalism in eliminating five militants during two different operations in Balochistan. He said the terrorists were sponsored by India and involved in creating instability in the province. The President reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to root out “Fitna-al-Hindustan” and all forms of terrorism from the country.

He emphasized that the entire nation stands firmly behind its armed forces in the ongoing fight against terrorism and that such operations would continue until complete peace is restored.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the security forces for what he called “decisive action” against Indian-sponsored terrorists operating in Balochistan. He specifically lauded the successful neutralization of four terrorists in Loralai who were allegedly involved in a series of attacks, including an incident on the N-70 highway that resulted in the martyrdom of 30 citizens.

In a separate operation in Kech district, security forces eliminated another high-value terrorist linked to cross-border terror networks. The Prime Minister said such operations demonstrated the professionalism and commitment of Pakistan’s armed forces to defending national sovereignty.

“The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with our valiant forces,” the Prime Minister stated, adding that India’s alleged proxy warfare through such terrorist networks would be decisively defeated.

Meanwhile, in a major counter-terrorism operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan and Chitral districts, security forces killed seven militants affiliated with what the military termed the “Indian proxy Fitna-al-Khawarij.”

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the night of May 28–29, six terrorists attempted to attack a security post in the Shawal area of North Waziristan. The attempt was foiled by alert troops, and in the ensuing firefight, all six attackers were killed.

Tragically, four Pakistani soldiers, including a young officer, embraced martyrdom during the intense exchange of fire. The martyred include Lieutenant Daniyal Ismail (24, Mardan), Naib Subedar Kashif Raza (42, Chakwal), Lance Naik Fiaqat Ali (35, Haripur), and Sepoy Muhammad Hameed (26, Abbottabad).

In a related engagement in Chitral, security forces neutralised one more militant linked to the same network. Clearance and sanitisation operations are ongoing in both regions to ensure that no further threats remain.

The ISPR said the sacrifices of the martyred soldiers strengthen the nation’s resolve to eliminate Indian-sponsored terrorism and ensure peace and security across the country.
