Pakistan mourns passing of Pope Francis, pays tribute to his legacy of peace, unity

ISLAMABAD, Monday, April 21, 2025 : Pakistan on Monday extended its heartfelt condolences on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, lauding him as a revered spiritual leader and a tireless advocate for global peace, interfaith dialogue, and human dignity.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised Pope Francis for his unwavering commitment to fostering unity among world religions, standing up for the oppressed, and championing the dignity and rights of all people.

“Pakistan deeply valued His Holiness’s tireless efforts to promote mutual respect and understanding across diverse cultures and faiths,” the ministry noted.

The statement further highlighted Pope Francis’s enduring legacy, characterized by humility, selfless service, and a powerful vision for a united humanity. “His life’s work will continue to inspire generations to come,” it added.

At this time of profound loss, Pakistan expressed solidarity with the global Catholic community and all those touched by the Pope’s extraordinary life of service.
